being black and blue

though it's quite light in this photo, anna has a nice bruise on her cheek from playing around on the hotel bed. how she landed on the floor and managed to hit that part of her cheek i'm not quite sure, but the ensuing scream and cry let us know she wasn't too thrilled about the pain. we didn't call the doctor, but the mama said, "no more monkeys jumpin' on the bed!"

being so crafty

okay, so i have to toot my own horn for just a wee little minute:

i actually made this little tote bag! a small group of church friends and i got together and tackled this project, which ended up being a bit more complicated and time-consuming than we (or at least i) had thought it would be. but it was fun to see all the different fabrics and styles come together, and i think they turned out great.

i am so proud of myself for actually creating something i want to keep! i may have to make a few more, just to prove to myself that i can...
