being grateful

pesche is currently working 12 hour days, 7 days a week. and i'm grateful that he has a very secure job that he loves. i'm grateful that i miss him when he's gone because it means my marriage is a happy one in a world where so many are unhappy.

my kids bicker and tattle and sometimes drive me insane. and i'm grateful for their individual personalities because i learn so much from them each day. they make me a better person and bring much more joy than sorrow to my life.

my apartment is tiny and always feels cluttered because there's no place to store stuff. and i'm grateful because we have shelter from the storm, a place to lay our heads, and too much stuff where so many have too little.

i have no idea where we're headed next, or when we'll be moving there. and i'm grateful because sometimes a little adventure in life is a good thing.

there is no bus service to the school my kids attend, so i have to drive carpool each day. and i'm grateful because i have a car to do just that, and i get to spend a few extra minutes with them finding out how their day was. not to mention the school is amazing and they are thriving there.

i turned 38 today, which i can hardly believe. and i'm grateful to be alive, healthy and truly lacking anything to complain about. really, if my biggest gripes are what i've listed above, i'm in a pretty good spot and have everything to be grateful for.

just had to put it out there.
