being in limbo....again

so, we're not (at least, most likely not) going to oklahoma after all. a crew from texas finished their project and needed a place to go, so mmr sent them instead of us. since it's only supposed to be a 4-5 month project, chances are they'll be finished there before we're finished here.

say that again? 4-5 more months in lamar? are you kidding me?

pesche is currently working on the 9th revision of the power plant electrical layout, and received the first part of revision 10 yesterday. each revision consists of multiple changes to the plant, including removing cables which have already been pulled, moving cables to new positions, and adding completely new cables to the job. so yes, i see several more months here in our future. had i known the engineering on this job would be such a nightmare, i would have insisted we find a house to rent instead of this tiny little 4-plex where we're tripping over each other all the time. hindsight...

but, my kids are enrolled in the most wonderful charter school here. i'm so pleased with how well they're doing that if it ends up that we stay until the school year is over i (little cough and hesitation here) won't be heartbroken. i guess sometimes we just have to look at the greater good. put children first. sacrifice what we want for what we really need. do whatever it takes. know that this, too, shall pass. live life to the fullest. accentuate the positive. take one day at a time. find joy in the journey.

and that's what i've resolved to do. i've made great friends here, my kids are happy, pesche loves his job, and we're really doing great. so (other than the lack of anything to do in this town) what's to complain?

You'll be gone from there before you know it and you will miss it! I promise. Maybe not the town but you'll miss the people, the school and the pace of life. I am sorry about the housing situation, I still feel responsible for it. Hang in there.
